What Are the Best Dogs for Apartments?

Any individual dog can have a higher or lower energy level than is typical of its breed. High energy dogs can be destructive dogs if left alone too long or if not given a job to do. A small breeding dog is the perfect pet for all of us who live in little cubbyhole-like apartments. Larger dogs, when stuffed into such flats, usually spend their time galloping from one end of the flat to the other in less time than you can say Indiana Jones and, with time, come to dolefully detest their utter existence.

In addition, a breed is easily house trained due to its intelligence and pleasing attitude, making him a good choice for apartment living. Today, most dogs are so-called "rescued mixed breeds" -- adopted from animal shelters from unknown former owners. But just because these breeds do well in apartments doesn't mean they should stay inside all the time. Regardless of your dog's size, dog park visits and daily walks are a must.

There are about 200 dog breeds in the world today. It thus becomes quite difficult to decide as to which one is the right one for you. I think no matter where you live you must be aware of what is involved in adopting this breed.

A pet dog is going to become a permanent member of your household, so you need to be sure that it is going to be able to fit in and that you will be able to adjust to the needs of your new four-legged friend. Dog breeds can reveal a lot not just about the size and appearance of a canine but also about its personality. Usually places that let you have pets are the more run-down places. Your best bet for a dog would be a duplex, which are actually pretty plentiful. I know it can be much harder to get dogs back into the UK, even with Pet Passports.
