The breed has a strong set of jaws and their wide, well-developed teeth meet in a firm or inverted scissors bite. They are a very athletic breed, and are capable of trotting for miles. The neck of the Alano Español is wide and strong, as are the jaws with their reverse-scissors bite. The Alano Español can come in several colors such as brindle, fawn, red, black and brindle and sable wolf. First several “ancient” breeds were identified based on a strong similarity in the single nucleotide repeates (SNR) in their DNA and the repeates in the Wolf set which were never domesticated. These breeds were thought to be some of the first breeds formed and domesticated.
His bite is very strong and firm. Temperamentally serious and very well balanced. These are very dominant dogs, but they will act submissive toward a strong master. The Alano Español requires confident pack leadership, and an owner that is ready and willing to present the dog with various tasks. The dog forms a strong attachment to its master. The Alano is also both strong and confident, but because of the work they have been selected for dog aggression is easily avoidable with minimal socialization. The neck is strong, powerful and wide, showing two double chins that should never hang to low.

His head is brachycephalic (Bulldog type) in shape, squared in appearance and with a serious expression. The Alano Espanol is very strong-willed and likes to dominate. If you have a hard time being kindly forceful, then this is not the dog for you. Their jaw is strong and undershot and their muzzle is short. The breed’s lips hang down over the lower jaw, and their nostrils are broad and open. The jaws are remarkably tenacious and strong while the skull is massive. The muzzle usually has the about same length as the skull. This dog has a well proportioned body structure and a deep chest, strong shoulders and withers. The back legs are slightly shorter than the front legs, which are straight when viewed from the front.
This is not an invitation to mistreat or physically punish or threaten a dog! Instead, this demeanor requires respect (in order that respect is returned), fair and thorough training and socializing to create a balanced, happy and courteous canine companion. With diligent training and a committed handler, the dog may overcome this aggressive behaviour. Remember that each dog breed is different. Some dog breeds require lots of time that you will have to dedicate to groom and to exercise.
