What is the Best Dog Food for my Miniature Dog?
Should I give my dog different dog foods, a variety?
One thing you have to consider is that Fido eats the same, exact food every single day. Ugg! So think that if there IS something in the food that they are accumulating, it is just going to add up faster. Other than the love and exercise, food plays a huge part.
What is Dog food made of?
Ok, we're going to gross some of you out, but remember that pet food makers are in business primarily to make a profit for their owners or shareholders. They are not primarily interested in getting the best food to your dog. You think on that and you're probably wondering how in the world can a pet food company stay in business if a food good for your dog is going to make them unprofitable? It's not easy, but it is possible.
Is the pet dog food industry regulated?
There are some regulations as to what goes into the pet food. But they allow manufacturers to use ingredients that you would never feed your pet. Shockingly, many pet foods include "by-products" (remember that word) like feet, bones and intestines. Now remember these - chemical preservatives like "BHA" and "BHT". Next, be aware that grains like corn, wheat, gluten and soy - all used to add protein - are really hard for your dog to digest. Some cause allergic reactions - like wheat gluten - and we wonder why our dog sometimes has a skin rash?
All these in your dog food puts a lot of stress and strain on Fido's system. So it is real important to look at the label when deciding what food to get any dog.
Earlier I talked about how hard it is to make a product, deliver it, and make it profitable for the manufacturer. Dog foods generally are made of the cheapest ingredient they can get a hold of. For instance, if they need wheat gluten, they go to the cheapest provider. Recently many manufacturers bought very cheap gluten from China, and you know what that did to many pets. I am not trying to scare you into buying anything. But I know that most pet ailments are related to skin and kidney stones. Why is that? Do they get that in nature? No.
It comes from the food they eat, we feed them. So these crappy ingredients accumulate and end up in the kidneys, and heart, eventually killing the pet. Most dogs should live into their 20's. But they don't.
What is the Best Holistic Dog Food?
One company I endorse is called Healthy Pet Net. They have a food called Life's Abundance which is made safely and of the highest quality. How do they make it profitable? Well, you have to order it direct from the factory over the Internet - there is no store front so the food doesn't sit for months before consumed. And yes, the price is comparable to the pet store, really. Jot down this website - www.PureTrinity.com.
