So be on the look out for that type. You can tell by observing the dog for a little while. Hang out with the dog.

Top 100 dogs lists are made in a ranked order using a system that enhances the opportunity for an equal breed representation in competition. Devoted to all aspects of purebred dogs sports, National championships sponsor intense competitions in companion, agility, CGC, obedience, tracking, rally, and performance in coonhound, earthdog, field trials, herding, hunting, and lure coursing.

Usually, dogs from the toy breed are usually used as watch dogs. These dogs can actually scare an intruder because they have high pitched barks. You can learn and know more about different breeds of dogs. The best quality breeds are listed here.

This site will help you realize better where the breed differences stand as a pet compared to other breeds. Because of their smooth looking physical attributes and their swift physical history, various people have preconceived misunderstandings pertaining to how some dogs may be as a family pet. Nervous breeds may do better if they share the apartment with other animals, so they don't feel so lonely when the owner is away. Because their instinct is to protect the home, noisy neighbors and even other dogs can set out a barking concert that can exhaust both the animal and the neighbors.

Breeders educate buyers so that they are aware of the needs of the breed. Whether or not someone has an allergic reaction to a particular dog breed is often very specific to that individual, and even to a particular dog within a breed. Most dogs who are raised around children will learn to tolerate them, but some popular breeds are known to be especially fond of children.

First of all, choose the most appropriate pet among various Dog Breeds . Calm, funny, lazy, aggressive or optimistic. Pick a dog breed that is similar to your lifestyle.
I had a client who researched the breed her family got. The breed should have suited them well. Check this dog jewelry out to see if we have your dog breed.

It helps to think of all the variables here: Should you adopt a mix or a particular breed? If the latter, which breed would best suit you? Take into consideration various factors like the breed, the temperament, the history and the adaptability of the dog before you pick him as a pet. It's important to know that individual dogs within breeds can demonstrate their own, unique personality traits. No matter what breed you choose, you shouldn't leave dogs and young children together unsupervised.

Hence the process has to be well thought out, and your choice should be influenced not only by your liking for a particular breed, but also by your requirements. One also needs to look at the kind of environment one can provide for a dog's growth, for different dogs have different needs. Our intentions are to better educate the public about this wonderful breed of dogs.

Miniature Puppies - Know What to Look For

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Miniature puppies love playing, so they get along really well with children. They adapt to almost all houses. But here's my tip: check to see if your miniature puppies were raised with a great deal of love and care, and look at the families that have cared for them throughout their birth to delivery to you. New owners should be prepared to spend lots of time with their new puppy. Some breeders are kind and visit nursing homes whenever they can to share the miniature puppies abundant love and affection.

So again, make sure the puppies are raised with lots of love before you consider buying one. They must be current on shots, will be mostly crate trained, and partially potty trained when they leave the place of purchase. And make sure your miniature puppy is what you can live with. For example, some have the non-shedding schnauzer coat. But a coat isn't everything. Remember temperament - would they make an excellent dog for your kids?

Miniature puppies are ideal travel companions and have plenty of energy and like the outdoors, which means they love to go on long walks. Many breeds adore water and sports. Poodles will keep in better spirits and be fitter if given regular opportunities to run and play off the leash in a safe area. Animal lovers enjoy looking at other people's animals so take your dog out to socialize with other dogs.

If you are looking at a Miniature Schnauzer puppy, you should look carefully to see if it appears healthy. It's ears should be relatively clean and free of discharge, it's eyes should be bright, and it should look like it's in good condition. Miniature puppies are breed for quality with excellent conformation, temperament, and health. Each puppy should be vet checked by a Vet to ensure you will have a healthy puppy.

Miniature puppies are usually not as healthy as their full sized counterparts. The AKC will not recognize these "new" sized miniature schnauzers. Miniature Schnauzers tend to be healthy, though some may have inherited eye ailments. They may also be susceptible to kidney and liver problems, diabetes, cysts, and skin ailments. Check with breeder if the puppies parents has been thoroughly checked by foundations that screen for health problems such as OFA (Orthopedic Foundation for Animals). Do your research of the breeder, the breed itself, breed's health and diseases, life span, puppy's parents, proper paper work, etc.

What Are the Best Dogs for Apartments?

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Any individual dog can have a higher or lower energy level than is typical of its breed. High energy dogs can be destructive dogs if left alone too long or if not given a job to do. A small breeding dog is the perfect pet for all of us who live in little cubbyhole-like apartments. Larger dogs, when stuffed into such flats, usually spend their time galloping from one end of the flat to the other in less time than you can say Indiana Jones and, with time, come to dolefully detest their utter existence.

In addition, a breed is easily house trained due to its intelligence and pleasing attitude, making him a good choice for apartment living. Today, most dogs are so-called "rescued mixed breeds" -- adopted from animal shelters from unknown former owners. But just because these breeds do well in apartments doesn't mean they should stay inside all the time. Regardless of your dog's size, dog park visits and daily walks are a must.

There are about 200 dog breeds in the world today. It thus becomes quite difficult to decide as to which one is the right one for you. I think no matter where you live you must be aware of what is involved in adopting this breed.

A pet dog is going to become a permanent member of your household, so you need to be sure that it is going to be able to fit in and that you will be able to adjust to the needs of your new four-legged friend. Dog breeds can reveal a lot not just about the size and appearance of a canine but also about its personality. Usually places that let you have pets are the more run-down places. Your best bet for a dog would be a duplex, which are actually pretty plentiful. I know it can be much harder to get dogs back into the UK, even with Pet Passports.

Which Dogs Live Longer - Large Dog Breeds or Small

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Before you run off and buy a large dog breed, know that as a rule small dog breeds live longer than large breeds. Naturally, there are exceptions to every rule. But think that when the average life expectancy of a dog is 12 years - Jack Russell terriers and Chihuahua often live around 14 years, sometimes longer.

Great Danes and mastiffs live only 8 to 10 years. The record for a dog is 29 years, 5 months. (Australian cattle dog.)

I think the biggest influence of the lifespan of a dog is their food. Some say it is related to the IGF-1 hormone. Maybe - but I still say it relates to diet. And one more note of interest.

As breeders breed dogs bigger and bigger, it may be that their system is not developing as fast as the size of the dog. Because of this, large dog breeds just wear out. Do you agree?

Comment if you like and let me know what you fell. Smaller dogs seem to fit into their breed bodies better. And I just cringed when our seven year old blurted out to the crossing guard at school, "Ginger has fleas!!!"

If you own a pet and take them for walks, your baby isn't immune. Fleas are carried by more than dogs and cats. Bunnies, squirrels, and all sorts of other varmint carry the little pests and leave them in the grass to find another host.

When this happened in our household, we wanted nothing to do with chemical treatments. But I found one that works well, and I'll have another post on a great finding that came about with my tests on Sergeants Sentry Natural Defense.

So I just saw Betty White, bless her heart, on TV, promoting 1-800-PetMeds. This is a website and an 800 number where you can get just about anything for your pet - dog, cat, or otherwise. She even held up a package of flea medication for dogs.

1-800-PetMeds does a great job with prescriptions and some hard to find pet treatments. I found that they answered their phone promptly and best of all - their prices are good. And if you look at the site now - you'll find there is a big discount on your shipping.

With the Internet - you probably won't have to pay sales tax.

Now be careful, because the way the site is designed, you'll get an "upsell" on every item you add to your cart. This means they recommend other items in the same category. That's fine - just be aware. It's sort of like Amazon.com - recommending other books in the same genre.

For each item, they give complete detail on the ingredients and you'll know what you're buying.

My one gripe with them is that they don't carry enough "natural" products for dogs. For example, they have none of Sergeants "Sentry" line of natural flea killers. But you will most likely find something that will work for you if you shop around the site.

I love the way you can see reviews from others who have purchased the product you're looking at. That's reassuring and will give you the good and the bad.

Have fun in your research! Yes, you've seen the aisles of pet food in the pet store. Just for dogs, there is normally one long aisle, or two complete aisles of food from cheap junk to some that is better than what you and I eat.

Should I give my dog different dog foods, a variety?

One thing you have to consider is that Fido eats the same, exact food every single day. Ugg! So think that if there IS something in the food that they are accumulating, it is just going to add up faster. Other than the love and exercise, food plays a huge part.

What is Dog food made of?

Ok, we're going to gross some of you out, but remember that pet food makers are in business primarily to make a profit for their owners or shareholders. They are not primarily interested in getting the best food to your dog. You think on that and you're probably wondering how in the world can a pet food company stay in business if a food good for your dog is going to make them unprofitable? It's not easy, but it is possible.

Is the pet dog food industry regulated?

There are some regulations as to what goes into the pet food. But they allow manufacturers to use ingredients that you would never feed your pet. Shockingly, many pet foods include "by-products" (remember that word) like feet, bones and intestines. Now remember these - chemical preservatives like "BHA" and "BHT". Next, be aware that grains like corn, wheat, gluten and soy - all used to add protein - are really hard for your dog to digest. Some cause allergic reactions - like wheat gluten - and we wonder why our dog sometimes has a skin rash?

All these in your dog food puts a lot of stress and strain on Fido's system. So it is real important to look at the label when deciding what food to get any dog.

Earlier I talked about how hard it is to make a product, deliver it, and make it profitable for the manufacturer. Dog foods generally are made of the cheapest ingredient they can get a hold of. For instance, if they need wheat gluten, they go to the cheapest provider. Recently many manufacturers bought very cheap gluten from China, and you know what that did to many pets. I am not trying to scare you into buying anything. But I know that most pet ailments are related to skin and kidney stones. Why is that? Do they get that in nature? No.

It comes from the food they eat, we feed them. So these crappy ingredients accumulate and end up in the kidneys, and heart, eventually killing the pet. Most dogs should live into their 20's. But they don't.

What is the Best Holistic Dog Food?

One company I endorse is called Healthy Pet Net. They have a food called Life's Abundance which is made safely and of the highest quality. How do they make it profitable? Well, you have to order it direct from the factory over the Internet - there is no store front so the food doesn't sit for months before consumed. And yes, the price is comparable to the pet store, really. Jot down this website - www.PureTrinity.com.

What is your opinion on dog foods?

Are Bird Dogs Good With Kids?

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>There are more than a few bird dog breeds that can accompany their masters on hunts, and who make superb establishment pets too. They are mostly mediocre to great sized dogs, and need running of keep fit to stay fit.

Bird dog breeds are approvingly able and dependable, and as a rule easy to master. It is mind-boggling even if they generally live in a city, how their feeling takes over in the citizenry when they breath or see birds! Hunting has each time been a very prevalent sport in the English countryside, and packs of dogs have been an integral part of the hunting team.

Most of the bird dog breeds we see around someplace in the realm have probably originated from Great Britain or Europe. While it may not be a way of life for most of the bird dog breeds to go hunting on a regular basis, their physical appearance and instincts are very much intact.

Bird Dog Breeds That Make Good Pets

The most standard among the bird dog breeds seen at the moment are the Pointers, Setters and Retrievers. Most of them live up to their names even if they have not been trained. Among the another bird dog breeds, Airedales are exceptional working dogs. They have heroic hunting instincts, and tough elements resistant coats. They can go after river fowls in very jangly setting. As pets, they are moderate loving, and outstanding with children.

American bird dog breeds consist of the Chesapeake Bay Retrievers. They are not playful or over approachable dogs like Labs and Golden Retrievers. They need to be expert, but are dedicated and sensitive. They are protective towards their owners, and want nothing more than to be near them! The Weimeraners are wonderful gun dogs that can be proficient to be very swift pointers, flushers, and retrievers. They are steadfast, easy to convoy, and warmly gifted. Their good strengthened stripe makes them very good home dogs and lookout dogs.

English Pointers are extremely quiet but admirable on the line of work. They love children, but are too friendly to make good sentinel dogs. English Setters are sharp, swift, and polite creatures. Their steadfastness and softness makes them good dwelling pets. They are companionable with children, and kindly towards further wildlife in the building. They are fun tender, and do not like to be left on their own. Golden Retrievers are striking animals with glossy coats. Their temperaments counterpart their looks, and they are outgoing, trustworthy, and mellow with children. Pomeranian dogs are too tiny and too proud to pull a sled, but are direct descendants of the powerful draft dogs of Iceland and Lapland. They love to be cuddled and just like some of the dog breeds; these dogs are so curious and inquisitive.

What Are Pomeranian Colors and Problems?

Pomeranian dogs are normally a red or brown color although there are black and blue varieties. They are prone to several genetic diseases, such as slipped stifle, and knee problems, as well as skin, heart and eye problems. Pomeranian dogs live to around 15 years old, and are very popular in England, since Queen Victoria introduced the in the 19th century.

Pomeranian Temperament - Is it Good?

Tea Cup Pomeranian dogs makes up for their size in their attitude and temperament, and are deceptively lively dogs. It is best to feed the dogs with dry food as this will keep their teeth and gums healthy, as well as being careful around the dog in general. Despite of their size, they tend to be very protective no matter what the size of their adversary might be, in such a way that many times they would not even fear facing a large dog.

Where do Pomeranians Come From?

To get an idea of what the earlier Pomeranian dogs looked like, you can easily compare them to the Japanese Spitz. They need daily exercise but can get their requirements indoors due to their small size. The only major health concern connected with them is patellar luxation.

Do Pomeranians Shed?

They are small, compact dogs, with medium size eyes, small ears, a rather short neck and a hairy tail counted among the most typical features of the breed. Pomeranians are small dogs of the Spitz family, which includes the German Spitz, Zwergspitz, Toy German Spitz, and the like. They are one of the heaviest shedding of the toy breeds.

The known history of the breed dates back from the mid-18th century, when it was introduced to several European countries. Dog historians are not exactly sure what time period this breeding practice took place. When the dogs reached England, the breeders there are credited with reducing the dogs size and developing the many colors available.

Tea Cup Pomeranian dogs are often defined as extremely loyal and protective animals that can be great with children when properly trained. They are not suited for outdoor living due to their need for human companionship and also their lack of withstanding hot or cold temperatures. For years you might be feeding your dog something you think is absolutely acceptable, when in fact, it is what's killing him.

Scary stuff, no? When we picked up the schnauzer in Miami, they offered the pet food they were feeding the pup at the time. I quickly asked, sort of sarcastically, - wasn't made in China, right? - and the owner laughed and said no. But still - that bag will end and I'll have to sort through the aisles at Publix, or PetSmart or Petco - man, we have them all here - and "guess" - that's right, "guess" on a food that won't be slowly killing my little baby puppy.

There are terrifying stories everywhere - but I've learned that even before the Chinese pet food disaster, there was trouble with commercial dog food. Yes, you can look at the label like I did, or feel warm and fuzzy by a brand name - but think about the recent Mattel toy recall because of lead in the paint. Still, I know at least two or three friends whose pets have died due to kidney failure.

Kidney failure? I suppose that happens to wild dogs, too? No - it doesn't. I found research on commercial dog food showing chemicals they won't put in human foods because they are carcinogenic.

Here's what else I've found. I saw a number of pet foods labeled as "preservative-free" and man, that sounds great. You think you're giving Fido something excellent. Just think - a food with nothing preserving it - it was made so well it just didn't need it.

But that's not totally true. What the regulators say is that manufacturers don't have to list preservatives that they themselves didn't put in. What?!! Yes - if it was put in there from the rendering plant - even before the meat is sent to the dog food manufacturer, it doesn't make the label - and doesn't have to. And your dog will likely die because of it.

I know this raises tons of questions - and I can't answer all. But I'll link to a site I found very helpful. This one site gave me loads of documented information that I know is hurting pets.

Find out more at Dog Care of Miami. Dogs who show aggression because they are frightened and mistrustful might be better companions than temperament testing may indicate, especially if they are capable of bonding with humans. Dogs should be registered so if they are found they won't be sent to the pound as a stray. "Everybody treats their dogs like their babies, so it's not surprising they would select tiny dogs," says Chase, who owns a pair of 4-pound, toy poodle-Maltese mixes.

Dogs as Small Pets

Small dogs make ideal pets for apartment dwellers and those with smaller living spaces. Small dog breeds are not only amazing pets but also good companions to be with. The next time that you are thinking of adopting a pet you may want to look at the many small dogs for adoption purposes as these small dogs are the best types of dogs to have as life long companions.

Small Dogs Are Best For?

Most small dog breeds have bags of character, energy and endless love to give, and make for very good household pets. Before selecting the small dogs as pets it is advisable to have a better understanding of their characteristics. Toy breeds are great pets for senior citizens or people who have reduced mobility. Many small sized dogs are bred for companionship and lap pets. Small dog breeds usually make excellent indoor pets because they take up less room than larger dogs.

Will Small Dogs Bark More?

Don't let there small size fool you, however. Some of these small dog breeds are as tough as nails and will often, unwisely, attempt to take on a dog five times their size. There are many different types of purebred small dogs, and they come in lots of different shapes, colors and sizes. Small dogs differ from large dogs only in terms of their size. Their small size makes them perfect as companions for children and people who live in small homes.

Small dogs are also a lot easier and cheaper to look after and care for. Small dogs are typically accustomed to being pampered and loved. Small dogs are more popular today than ever before.

Housebreaking, Potty Training Your Puppy Dog

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Potty training dogs is easiest when they are young puppies, and this page outlines a basic method. Potty training dogs is not always fun. The main thing to remember when you're potty training dogs is your attitude. The first obstacle in potty training dogs is to teach the dog how to go on command, you can do this inside the house then work your way up to teaching him to do it outside.

Dogs or puppies that have never been taught to eliminate in a designated potty area may tend to answer the call of nature anywhere, including indoors. Dogs are relatively clean animals and housebreaking a puppy can usually be accomplished in a short amount of time without extensive input on your part. Dogs with prior obedience training will go over the intermediate obedience training curriculum. Dogs house soil because of different reasons. Dogs are naturally clean and they don't like making a mess in the area where they eat or sleep. But training yourself is more important than obedience training dogs.

Training a puppy will be a little more difficult and time consuming than training an adult because they can't hold their bladder as long. Training puppies is a time consuming task, so be prepared to spend a lot of time. I'm talking about house training, making sure that they know to go outside when it is time to do their business. The simplest method for potty training a dog is the newspaper method. When you see him go to do the toilet, take him to the paper and tell him your command, then praise him for doing it on the paper, this type of potty training needs a very vigilant handler. Potty training the quick and easy way.

Puppy brains are like sponges just waiting to absorb all kinds of knowledge and training. Puppy-proof your living space to ensure that dangerous items like household cleaners and electrical cords are secured. Puppy potty training can be a difficult and frustrating experience. Here are the basics of a simple potty training routine for a puppy. If you're housebreaking a puppy, you'll have to set a schedule that accommodates his little bladder. When it's time for puppy potty training, if at all possible keep him in a non-carpeted area near the outside door you'll be using. Your puppy might be ready to eliminate a feeding, or possibly was fed too much with the previous feeding. Don’t get your puppy started on table scraps; this habit is unhealthy and hard to break. A puppy will try to keep from eliminating if he is in a small space, like a crate. Don’t talk to your puppy while you do the cleanup.

Housebreaking dogs doesn't have to be a terrible ordeal. Housebreaking your puppy is probably the most important thing you teach your dog. Housebreaking a new dog with newspapers—or at least cleaning up the mess—is less than fun. As you're teaching your dog about housebreaking, use a happy voice. It's pretty standard to use newspapers, as mentioned above, when you're housebreaking dogs. Although there are many different methods of housebreaking a puppy or house training, it is an essential task that should be addressed early on in the pup's formative weeks. As in all dog training, housebreaking a puppy is a process that requires time and commitment on your part. Keep your home fresh n clean while housebreaking your puppy.

Training is sure to become easier; we won't have to worry about house breaking dogs if they hardly ever need to go to the bathroom. The biggest complaint people have with new pets is the unruliness and difficulty in house breaking dogs. Use these great tools to assist you while when house breaking puppies. Whilst house breaking puppies and house training dogs is a simple topic it may not be a priority in choosing a new dog.
Yorkie Puppies for Sale - Get Them Fast

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Yorkie puppies for sale! - Is it a fad? These cute puppies for sale by dog rescue and Yorkie Dog Breeders are small, weighing in at 7 pounds or less.

Many Yorkie puppy breeders will tell you that the "tea cup" nomination does not mean anything other than the smallest of the breed. And, a Toy Yorkie does not mean frail or fragile.

Do Yorkies Shed?

Yorkies have long hair, but they have no undercoat. An undercoat is the part that sheds - and which may cause allergies to some people. Yorkie puppies and full grown Yorkies have hair much like humans which grows and falls out. Plus, Yorkies have less dander so they don't have that "wet dog" smell.

A pure bred Yorkie will have straight hair, not wavy. If the Yorkshire Terrier is a show dog, the coat requires many hours of brushing each day. It's not uncommon to see a Yorkie in rice paper covering the beautiful coat when between showings at competition.

The Yorkie has a medium tail because it is traditionally docked, or cut, by the breeder when a puppy. Since the early 1990's there has been a movement afoot to ban this practice, however, your Yorkie will probably have a medium tail.

Are Yorkies Good with Kids?

Yorkies are Terriers, and Terriers are intelligent and independent. Yorkies are courageous, acting much bigger than they are. They fit in with families very well but are bold and may not be suitable for kids and small children. Yorkies often bark at strangers, but it has been found that this is due to how the owner trains the animal.

Yorkies are from England, and were bred to kill rats in confined areas. They sought out critters that burrowed. Animals that are cornered will fight back to protect their young. A dog that would willingly pursue that animal must have a great deal of courage. Terriers are that kind of dog.

Yorkshires are from Yorkshire, England - a northern region. They were introduced to America in 1872.

How Do I Make My Dog Obey?

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>As most of you know, we've had Ginger, our miniature schnauzer for a few days now. But we've had pets forever. This baby was just a nice addition at a nice time for our family.

But the first question people have when they ask about her, is how do you train your dog? The answer is mainly that everyone in the family has to be giving the dog the same signals. Most of the time dogs get confused and don't obey because each family member treats a situation differently.

So we checked out the dog obedience courses on the Internet and one that we can recommend to you is Daniel Stevens' "Sit, Stay, Fetch". This program which is made up of an ebook which is downloadable from Stevens website. It's an easy read, but what we thought was nice is that it is broken up into various problem chapters. You find a problem, go to the chapter and read how to train your dog in that area.

Daniel goes over "dog talk" and let's you see how speaking to your dog in people talk will set him confused. Moreover, Daniel details how dogs react to your misunderstood command, and we found he was spot on. In the book, you will learn these necessary lessons:

How to make your dog understand you. Many dog owners don't know when their dog is comprehending them, or not.

Professional dog trainer tips revealed. We thought this was great to save hundreds!

Learn how to break up dog fights easily.

Learn how to calm your dog's aggressiveness. Here Daniel talks about six interesting strategies that do work.

Urgent dog house training! Oh, yeah - this is the biggie. Learn which techniques bring the fastest results and which don't work at all.

Keep your dog from racing out that front door. This tip alone is worth it all.

There's a lot more, and you'll see that it's not just us - many people recommend and endorse Daniel Stevens tried and tested techniques. In fact, this is one book you could easily make a gift to any new dog owner. They'll appreciate it for life!

Along with Daniel's book, we also received a few things we felt were nice - but they may not mean much to you. We got a Quick Guide to Dog Aggression, Secrets to Becoming the Alpha Dog, Grooming Made Easy (my wife loved this one), Tips on Security Training Your Dog, All the House Training Methods and Tricks (my favorite), the SitStayFetch Audio (an mp3 file), and Daniel's personal consultation via e-mail.

Ok, that said - we found the product well worth it. It's a bonus when your dog obeys, does his job in the right place, and doesn't bite the neighbor's dog. People ask us all the time who trained our dog. And guess what - it's never too late to start.

Choosing the Right Chihuahua Breeders before Selecting a Pup

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>If you want to own a dog, you should consider the Chihuahuas, but before you buy, you should realize that there are certain things you should know first. There are many Chihuahua breeders in all areas and choosing one that is well known is very important. See if you can ask your friends if they know anyone who owns one of these dogs to recommend Chihuahua breeders, or check out a few before you decide on your pet.

There are very many breeds of Chihuahua such as: apple head, tea-cup, long haired, doll faced and shorthaired. Good Chihuahua breeders will not breed many different types, but only one type. Some Chihuahua breeders specialize in the smaller breeds. Once a buyer has chosen the breed he/she wants it is best to visit the kennel a few times before finally taking the puppy home.

Usually, reputable Chihuahua breeders will want to know what the family is like and their background of owning pets before they sell one. In the same line, buyers should ask Chihuahua breeders questions about the dogs. This isn't as simple as buying a new purse; the dog will be the newest member of the family. Take a little time to observer around the kennel to help make the right choice.

An important thing to note is if the puppies were brought up in kennels or reared inside a home. If you are looking to buy, you should check around the home or kennel to see what the conditions were like, make sure that they are well maintained. Try and observe if the puppies are shy or if they are playful and affectionate.

Questions to Ask Chihuahua Breeders

The first thing to ask Chihuahua breeders is for verification or ID. Ask if there is a waiting list to be put on if there is no litter and ask if their are puppies available at all times. Another good step to take is to ask to see the mother of the litter. Also ask if the breeder has taken the dogs for their shots and that they are up to date. When you get your puppy you should be able to ask for the Chihuahua breeders help and support ever after the sale.

Here's a tip: Ask for the names of previous buyers. That was if there are any problems you encounter, you can be aware if others have faced the same with these Chihuahua Breeders. Ask what kind of food the dogs eat and make sure that it is a premium quality. Don't fall for a breeder who doesn't let you come to the kennel many times before making a decision. If one is rushing you then use caution, as he may not be reputable.

Miniature Dog Breeds – Joy in a Tea Cup

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Miniature dog breeds, or small dog breeds are the best choice for those with confined living spaces. Usually lap dogs, they are very cute but sometimes tend to snap. Miniature dog breeds may at first seem easier to look after; they do eat less and often need less exercise than large dogs. However, they are more delicate, and get dehydrated more easily. Vets usually have a problem treating them, as they do not have much weight to lose, and every illness can possibly be fatal. Many are not very energetic indoors, but there are some ones that like to romp around outside. Children can cause a lot of harm to miniature dog breeds because the dogs have smaller bones that cannot take a lot of pressure.

Miniature dog breeds do include lapdogs and toy dogs. Their smaller size makes them ideal for the elderly and the disabled. Sometimes these dogs seem like an accessory with the way owners hold them in their arms or have them in their laps. Owners often treat them this way too, like toys. Miniature dog breeds are the ones whom you hear people taking to spas and beauty salons made especially for dogs. Their collars and leashes decorated with jewels and sparkly gems. It is even not that unlikely for a longhaired breed to have hair clips!

Miniature Dog Breeds that People Love

The various miniature dog breeds that make popular house pets include some whose names are also miniatures. They are the Miniature Pinscher or Minpin, Miniature Bull Terrier, Miniature Dachshund and Miniature Schnauzer. The Minpin is not related to the Doberman Pinscher, but many miniatures are a result of inbreeding and cross breeding. Schnauzers, Terriers, and Dachshunds are seen in larger varieties too. All of these dogs have an abundance of energy and often yap at strangers or if they're not getting enough attention. Hair shedding should not be a problem with these four.

Other miniature dog breeds that are very popular with ladies are the Pomeranian, Shih Tzu, Chihuahua and the Pekingese. These are the longhaired breeds that love being groomed which is good since they need a lot of it. There are shorthaired varieties of Chihuahua as well. These varieties are rather self-sufficient animals, and though the Pomeranian is very energetic, the others are not. Some miniature dog breeds like the Yorkshire Terrier, Chihuahua, Toy Poodle, Pomeranian, and Shih Tzu are exceptionally alert, and can be good watch dogs despite their small size. These can get excited easily and like to bark at strangers.

List of Small Dog Breeds – Plenty of Choice

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>People who live in small homes or apartments want to have dogs too, but they are severely limited in their choice. Having a list of small dog breeds can help out tremendously in these cases. Small dogs don't need a lot of space or much exercise. Though not everything is good about smaller breeds, they are usually much noisier and bark often. Sometimes it can seem as if they want to make up for their lack of size by barking louder and louder!

Choosing a puppy from a list of small dog breeds can be easier if you make a selection between short hairs and long hairs. The shorthaired dogs are a lot easier to brush and groom and are the preferred dog for those without much time to do these things. Chihuahuas are good dogs because they can be shorthaired or longhaired. They are really small and along with the English Toy Spaniel, Papillon, Toy Fox Terrier, and Toy Poodle, are part of the toy group on any list of small dog breeds.

Some others on the list of small dog breeds are popularly known as lap dogs. These dogs often enjoy sitting on the laps of their owners and being petted or groomed all the time. Basically the Paris Hilton of dogs...Now this doesn't mean that large breeds don't sit in their owners laps! Pomeranians, Pekingese, Maltese, Lhasa Apsos, Miniature Pinschers, also known as Minpins, are some popular lap dogs. The Papillon, Lhasa Apso, Silky Terrier and Pekingese, are some of the better known longhaired dogs.

Characteristics of Some Dogs on the List of Small Dog Breeds

Small dogs are usually spunky little guys; they are not so good with smaller children though. There are some small breeds who are lap dogs other like to roam around outside. Sometimes it can be hard to choose with breed from a list of small dog breeds to bring home, most of them are so easy to fall in love with!

The King Charles Spaniel is a good example of a very friendly dog that gets along with other people's pets. Chihuahuas usually have the notion in their heads that they are ten times their regular size. The Papillon or Continental Toy Spaniel is amongst the gentlest and most affectionate of dogs. It is fond of outdoor exercise and is quite a tough dog.

Pekingese can rule the house and is the perfect lapdog. Pomeranians are generally smart and make for a good friend. Some people think they are more cat-like by temperament. Pugs and Fox Terriers are both ideal to have with children around. They enjoy company and are very energetic and playful. At the end of their play they love to curl up in the lap!

Family Favorites from a List of Large Dog Breeds

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Every list of large dog breeds come with names of certain breeds that would be ok for children to be around. However, before going through the list of large dog breeds to select a pet, there are certain things to be considered. Is your house big enough, with lots of space for the dog to play around in? Are the easily breakable items and expensive furniture, which may be damaged with a large dog running around the place? Just how important is it for you to have your house looking spic and span with no dog hair all over the house?

If you have thought out these problems and still want to have a large dog, you should have a little family gathering and talk about the list of large dog breeds. The most complete list of large dog breeds would certainly include names of the Irish setter, Greyhound, Chow Chow and Dalmatian. In addition to the names mentioned earlier, other popular dogs which feature usually on a list of large dog breeds are the German shepherd, Doberman Pinscher, Afghan hound, Boxer, Collie, Golden Retriever, Labrador, Great Dane and St. Bernard.

Some Characteristics of Dogs from the List of Large Dog Breeds

Dogs are known to be good with children. It is only when a child continually mistreats a dog that is may eventually bite. Even when a large dog is playing, it can severely injure a child, so always supervise when they are together. Large dogs generally weigh over 50 pounds; and some of the even bigger ones can weigh over 80, Dogs don't really have as acute senses as humans do when it comes to size, and they don't realize how easy it is to knock children over or even your furniture. Luckily many breeds of larger dogs are pretty gentle and can be left inside as long as someone takes on the responsibility of taking them outside regularly for exercise.

While you can keep some in apartments, they are mostly kept in farms or at homesteads. Some dogs prefer the colder climates and it would be cruel to keep them in hot places. Other dogs, such as working dogs, are better off at farms since they have inherited traits that make them ideal for being there.

Many dogs need a lot of exercise, but none more than large dogs; they need plenty of it. They also eat a lot more and therefore will be more expensive to keep up, but for the genuine dog lover, expense usually isn't a problem.

List of Dog Breeds To Choose The Ideal Dog For Your Family

<?php include "http://www.threebestdogs.com/block.txt"; ?>Before bringing home your first dog, or even another dog that you want to become a member of the family, you should first do at least a little research on what kind of dog you want to bring home. You can find a list of dog breeds online or even in magazines or you ask your local pet store owner.

While looking at a list of dog breeds, you can be aware of what kind of dog would be best suited for you and also it will help you understand which dogs will get along with other animals and other people as well.

What A List of Dog Breeds Will Tell You

When you search for that right pet to bring into the family, a list of dog breeds may be the answer to all your questions.
