When it comes to clothing the recent trend is boutiques that designed special clothes, accessories or personalized dog collars, or any item for your pet. But there are some accessories too, where you cannot think of any kind of compromises. Dog collars, leashes, feeders are some of the most important accessories to give him a convenient and easy going life.

Dog collars are an inevitable item for the dog lovers, as it is a compulsory product required for their training and recognition. Collars also mark the domesticity of the dogs and also reflect the personality and preferences of the dog owners. Thus, it has become quite a common trend to get personalized dog collars for your pampered pooches. The use of collars came into existence to control your dogs, but now it has become an inexorable part of the canine fashion world. More than just a tool to inhibit your dogs, it has become a symbol of your personality and a fashion accessory.

Many dog lovers doubt the use of designer dog collars when they already have a harness for their little pet dogs. Well, a unique designer dog collar, made especially by designers is used for identification purposes and to make your pet look nice. It is absolutely important to have a personalized dog tag with all your details and contact numbers on your dogs’ collar. In spite of the latest microchip used for easy identification of your dog, a dog collar is important for immediate recognition.

Basically the functionality of the collars and the leashes is to help you control your dogs, so obviously whatever material is used, it should be flexible enough. They are available in various colors and designs decorated with these tiny sparkling stones. You can even personalize the collars of your dog by ordering for the name of your pooch to be flashed in precious and semi-precious stones. This will make the designer dog collar exceptionally beautiful and attractive. Many dog parents feel that even if you don’t spend too much on your dogs’ attire you could vouch out some cash for a trendy and personalized dog collar for his personal identity. Personalized dog collars give your little Pekinese or Doxie his own personal identity and of course make him stand out of the crowd!

Dog collars are an utter necessity, as they ensure safety for the dog. Collars can also be an indulgence for both the dog as well as the owner. Sometimes, collars can also reflect the personality of the dog and the owner. Most people do not hesitate to spend a fortune on a dog collar to make their best friend feel really special.

Dog collars are of many types, ranging from the simple and practical leather and nylon collars to exquisitely designed gold or silver collars. Pet owners are finding that giving a unique collar to their furry friend would buy them a lot more loyalty. There are many companies today providing designer dog collars that are beautiful, unique, fashionable, durable and affordable. These include personalized collars, spiked collars, jeweled collars, genuine leather collars, collars with matching leashes and clothes, and lots more. Collars can also be embedded with special equipment such as breakaway buckles, bells, speakers, GPS technologies and RFID.

There are so many different things that you need to buy for your pet when you are a pet owner, and the list of items can often seem endless. If you have a dog or any other pet for that matter, of course you are going to want to make sure that they are happy and comfortable and living the best possible life, and this means that you have to get all the small dog pet supplies or other that they need.

Pet supplies dog collars are one of the most important items that you are ever going to buy for your dog. Maybe you just want to get pet supplies dog collars to make your dog look more fashionable or, for the really smart reason, of having identification on them so that if the dog did ever get away and someone found it, they would see your address and phone number and be able to return the dog to you.

Personalized dog collars are not only a great way to accessorize dogs but also provide the best way for a dog to be identified in the event he is separated from his owner. In the past dog owners depended on engraved rabies tags listing the address and phone number of the dogs vet.

There are a number of reasons why a dog could benefit from a personalized reflective dog collar. If you walk your dog by any road it is important that drivers will be able to see him or her at night. If you like to take your dog with you on daily jogs it is also important for drivers to be able to see him or her. By creating a personalized reflective dog collar for your pet you will be able to securely walk or jog with your dog in the evening hours and drivers will be able to safely avoid you and your dog.

If you are thinking of adopting a German Shepherd puppy, it is important to know all that you can about the breed before making the decision. A German Shepherd is a medium sized animal that is quite strong and is not for dog owners that tend to be apathetic, are sedentary, or are novice dog owners. The breed possesses superior intelligence and will take over as leader of the pack if given the chance. When choosing a German Shepherd puppy for your home, you must be ready to accept the responsibility that comes with the task.

Grooming

A German Shepherd puppy is a classic breed that comes in a variety of coat colors. Purebred German Shepherds can have coats of black and tan, black and silver, black and cream, solid black, and sable. These coats shed year round with the heaviest period of shedding occurring seasonally. Starting when the dog is a puppy and continuing throughout adulthood, the dog should be groomed on a regular basis to prevent the shedding hair from accumulating throughout the home. Daily brushing is recommended and bathing should occur only when necessary to keep the coat in excellent condition.

Training

A German Shepard puppy requires extensive training early in life to be suitable for a domestic lifestyle. When trained as a puppy, German shepherds are quick to learn and very obedient. If the owner waits too long to train their animal, they will find that the dog can be obstinate and may even refuse to listen to the trainer. The training must be conducted with respect, fairness, and consistency, as a German Shepherd puppy will not respond to harsh or heavy handed training methods. The use of rewards for compliance with commands is recommended, as German Shepherds tend to respond well to this method.

Personality

A German Shepherd puppy is inquisitive and very curious about their environment. They possess a large amount of energy and are very agile, which can cause problems if the pet owner is looking for a more docile companion. A German Shepherd puppy thrives on interaction with their human companions and does not like to be left alone for long periods of time. Before training is complete, a German Shepherd that is left alone for long periods of time will do things to amuse themselves, such as destroying pillows or damaging furniture. Members of this breed are herders by nature and will instinctively try to herd anything that they come into contact with that moves. A German Shepherd puppy can have many peculiarities that any potential owner should be aware of before deciding to adopt one of these wonderful animals.

I agree entirely that it is up to dog owners to take care of their animals, as should be clear from my previous posts. The fact is that many people DO NOT, and unless sufficent laws are introduced and ENFORCED, we will continue to have a situation where dogs roam the streets. Dog roams the town looking for a new owner, and ends up being taken in by a family on vacation, consisting of a shrill mother and a bombastic father (Mrs. The girl breaks his heart by ignoring him once they return to her home in the city. As a responsible dog owner who took on a abandonded dog I am disgusted, Charges should be applied.

All we knew was that her previous owner(s) had moved and did not want to take her with them. After we took her to the vet, we placed her on a food allergy diet which completely healed her red eyes. As the owner it is your responsibility to condition your puppy for future training. Like a child your dog will need positive reinforcement and immediate correction. Attempts were made to contact his owners which did not produce and results. So he is now in foster care and awaiting a new home.

I would go further and say that the prospective pet owner should apply to own the pet, providing details of their suitability as an owner/carer, and their need for the animal. Every were we hunt, we look out for the property owners and treat them like family if they aren’t. We don’t use tracking collars on any of our hunting dogs and we treat them like children. Some 15 from one owner arrived in the last two weeks.

In some cases, older dogs are rejected by their owners, or left behind when an elderly owner must give up their beloved pet and no family members want the dog. Some of these dogs are in poor physical condition as well, and adopting them can be challenging and expensive. The potential owner agrees to pay the adoption fee and understands that this is to help defer rescue costs for veterinary care, transportation, and general supply costs incurred daily by the dog in order for their care. Puppies are on the higher end and older dogs or those with special needs may be on the lower end. However, I do not recommend getting a new dog weather a puppy or an adult as a holiday gift unless you have done your research and you are truly prepared to be a new dog owner. We searched for three months before we adopted our two dogs and it just happened to be before christmas.

If the owner was a drunk then it’s likely he might not have that kind of money, resulting in dog being put to sleep. However, as with every animal, owners must be aware of the commitment they are taking on can be up to 10 years. We have been fostering her for a few months now, after having been abandoned by her previous owners. She was very timid and frightened when we first took her in – we had to make a bed in our greenhouse initially as she wouldn’t come into the house even in the worst of weather.

All responsible dog owners clean up after their pets! As for Listerine, I can only say that we have one life, this is it, it’s not a rehearsal, so make the most of it and try giving instead of taking. The removal of fly-tipping from private land is the owner’s responsibility however; we will provide advice on its removal. Come on dog owners! Are a few hours filled with traffic, confusing crowds, explosioins and high levels of noise really worth the anxiety and possible loss of your pet?

Often small dog breeds are incorrectly characterized as high strung and yappy, and this simply isn’t true if the dog is cared for correctly, given lots of love and attention as well as good socialization and training. Small dogs as a rule may not adjust as well to boisterous children and rambunctious toddlers, but they can do very well with older children and families. Small dog breeds are a very popular choice amonst dog owners all over the world. This is not to say that the larger breeds are not popular as well. Generally, small dog breeds are just ten inches or less high at the shoulder. In most breeds, the male is slightly larger than the female, but the difference is generally small.

These small dog breeds are those of about 10, or less, inches tall (average). They can adapt better to a limited space, be easier to handle and require less space to life.

They have a high motor and a short attention span so be patient when training such breeds but also be firm in your commands and do not let the little guy run the show. If given an inch small dog breeds will take a yard and run for as long as you let them. These highly intelligent breeds pick up a command after only about five or six exposures, they more often respond on the first time you give the command, and they remember commands even if they aren’t practiced often. They also learn commands even when the trainer is inexperienced and makes mistakes. Despite this, the Smooth Fox Terrier is very loyal and intelligent, and it can even be trained for tricks and other useful commands.

A fast learning breed is much easier to train and will know more commands in a shorter period of time. While a slower learning breed requires more patience and time to train.

Because of their short hair, they will do best in a warm climate zone or where they can be kept indoors unless they are of the long-haired variety. Their accessories such as collars and leashes are often bejeweled designer goods, and it is not unusual to see the long haired varieties with their heads full of clips.

Terriers are tough, sturdy, courageous, confident, vocal, and very independent. These dogs were first developed to hunt rodents and other small burrowing animals. Toy Fox Terriers love to make you laugh, and this little dog will act like a puppy well into the golden years. Athletic and fun to train, full of practical jokes and silly antics, Toy Fox Terriers practically burst with terrier fire, intelligence, courage, and self-confidence, all conveniently sized to fit in your purse. Types of dogs referred to as toy dogs may include Spaniels , Pinschers and Terriers that have been bred down in size. Not all toy dogs are lapdogs , although that is an important and ancient type of toy dog .

For example, a terrier is a dog with a high energy level, and is generally not content to just sit on your lap ’til it is much older and mature. It is a wise idea to explore all of the benefits and drawbacks to help decide if a small dog is right for you . Fox terriers can be yappy, so your pet may need to go to obedience school if she annoys the neighbors. This is a healthy and low maintenance dog breed, suitable for the owner who just wants to enjoy having a pet without all the grooming fuss. Though called a terrier, the Boston does not have a typical terrier temperament. They make good watchdogs and are naturally protective.

The Akbash Dog is thought to be the Turkish equivalent of other white guardian breeds found in and around the northern Mediterranean Basin. The Akbash Dog has its unique combination of molosser and sighthound qualities. When purchasing an Akbash Dog, it is vital to buy from OFA hip certified stock. The breed has an average life expectancy of 10 to 11 years, and they average 7 to 9 puppies per litter. An Akbash Dog’s established territory belongs to the dog, and it should not be expected to tolerate intrusions from wandering neighborhood dogs. The Akbash dog is a large, beautiful breed. With his pale, almost pure white coat, his size, and his incredible aptitude for shepherding and other working conditions, the Akbash can be a terrific companion for any owner.

It is important to rememember that the USDA studies led to the conclusion that Akbash Dogs did not lose their instinct to protect even after neutering. The average weight for a male Akbash Dog in good condition is 120 pounds; for a female, 90 pounds. With its long-legged and “tucked-up” appearance, the Akbash Dog shows signs of greyhound or gazehound influence. The heavier, blunt muzzled Kangal Dog, while not nearly as exaggerated in proportion as many modern day mastiff breeds, is reminiscent of the early mastiffs with their pendant ears, moderately shortened muzzles, powerful chests, and broad skulls. The owners of both pet and livestock-guarding Akbash Dogs need to establish an “alpha,” or dominant, relationship with their dogs.

Properly socialized and trained, the Akbash Dog is an ideal family pet and home guardian. Akbash Dog breeders can provide you with valuable information on selection of your dogs or puppies as well as how to correctly care for your new companion. An Akbash Dog breeder can help match you to the correct dog or puppy that meets your criteria & needs. Akbash Dogs are not recommended for first time dog owners, or anyone who doesn’t have a lot of time for socializing these dogs. They are ideal for those who need an effective watch/guard dog for livestock, as they will not hesitate to risk their own lives to protect animals in their charge. Known health problems for the Akbash breed include hip dysplasia and OCD. The perfect holiday or special occasion dog gift ideas for the pet, canine, puppy, and breed specific dog lover in your life!

Choose from AKC, UKC, and CKC specific dog breed gifts , just dog gifts , mutt and mixed-breed lover gifts , gifts for dog rescuers , or stylish dog t-shirts . As they’re not active, walks are not needed as much as some other breeds but still should happen on a regular basis. A big garden is a must as that’s where the Akbash will get most of their exercise. There is a double coat with a soft undercoat and coarse, white outer coat that is medium or long in length. Their white, weather resistant, double, short to medium length coats are coarse and non-matting, with very little doggy odor. The Akbash has a massive head and powerful jaws. Nose: Black and self-colored according to coat. Neck: Strong, muscular, and arches at the crest.

Small dog breeds are a very popular choice amonst dog owners all over the world. This is not to say that the larger breeds are not popular as well. This popular small dog breed generally grows to no more than six or seven pounds in weight, and has a beautiful white coat. The Maltese is a very ancient dog breed and has a strong constitution, though it should not be kept in very hot areas, due to the thick coat. There are many other small dog breeds available so you need to know exactly what you’re looking for. You need to make sure that any new dog – whether a small one or not – fits in with your family, your living space and your lifestyle. Small dogs are more likely to be allowed to sleep right on a human’s pillow. In the dog world, the pack leader sleeps in the highest (height wise) most comfortable place. Small dogs are cute and cute things make people happy. Many small dogs are bratty and manipulative and will use “helplessness” to get you to do their bidding. If he can launch himself onto the couch, he can make it up those steps.

Don’t give a small dog breed table food. This is not a complete and balanced diet for them. There are other small dog breeds that may be well suited to you and your family, so check out our links page for additional resources. But we think you’ll find plenty of info on our site to help you make your decision with confidence. Many small dog breeds, like the Chihuahua and Pomeranian, have a reputation for being temperamental, jealous and downright spoiled at times. Depending on the breed, some may also be difficult to train and housebreak, as they are often known for being headstrong to make up for their small stature. Small dogs are smart, and “often train even faster” than large dogs, Arden said. There are even toy service dogs. The teeth of small dogs are drastically overcrowded in their jaw, making them more prone to severe periodontal disease (and this is common knowledge among veterinarians). Their teeth are packed into a small jaw, leaving very little space in between them and providing plenty of places for bacteria and plaque to develop and grow. Fortunately, just like their larger cousins, small dogs are very trainable. Many of the toy breeds are especially fast learners to boot!

One of the most popular small dog breeds is a poodle. If you favorite activity isn’t running the vacuum cleaner, you’ll want to choose your dog breed carefully as many small dog breeds shed quite profusely. A non shedding dog breed may be particularly important to you if you suffer from allergies. Learn about their variety of traits and needs, and see lots of small dog breed pictures, puppy pictures too. By their nature, small dogs are underfoot. If you have rambunctious children or other large pets, smaller breeds, particularly toy breeds, can feel threatened. Small dogs are cute, they’re cuddly and best of all you can take them almost anywhere! The most convenient way to transport your pooch is with a small dog carrier. Dog crates for small dogs are an important part of travel if you have a pet, large or small. Getting dog crates for small dogs will make your trip pleasant for both your beloved pet and yourself!

The pug is probably the largest of the toy dog group, weighing an average of up to 18 pounds. Extra small-sized dogs under 4 pounds and 8 inches can be ambiguously termed -Teacup,- yet it isn’t universally standardized. Many small sized dogs are bred for companionship and lap pets.

A great dog would be, well – she is house trained, knows basic obedience commands and is completely vetted. She is a dominant female and, due to a very bad experience in her past with a large dog, she is fearful aggressive of other dogs and strangers. Despite this, the Smooth Fox Terrier is very loyal and intelligent, and it can even be trained for tricks and other useful commands. These highly intelligent breeds pick up a command after only about five or six exposures, they more often respond on the first time you give the command, and they remember commands even if they aren’t practiced often. They also learn commands even when the trainer is inexperienced and makes mistakes. These breeds aren’t the smallest, but they also aren’t very big. For many dog owners, dogs between 20 and 40 pounds make the perfect pet because they are easy to manage when walking, yet strong and active enough to play frisbee in the back yard. So you aren’t limited to just the short-haired breeds if you don’t have time for regular brushing. You still can choose a longhaired breed; you just have to clip his coat short to make it easy to maintain.
